M and Em's Connection

Well, here it is! I've entered the blogging world, motivated by several girlfriends and sisters-in-law who are avid blog-readers. I figure, if I can keep this somewhat updated, it will prevent the monthly mass emails I've sent as an attempt to keep people up to speed on the biggest change happening in our lives right now. (Baby due in just six weeks!) This way, if friends and family want to be updated, they're welcome (but not obligated) to read about what's happening right here.

It took us a really long time to come up with a remotely clever title for our blog. I think we may have failed, but I'm going to get over that. I know it's a little hokey-pokey, but all our other good ideas used our last name, which we were trying to prevent. Alas.

I've only worked on this since 9am this morning (in between snippets of Rachael Ray and switching over laundry) and my eyes already feel blurry from staring at the screen and trying to understand all of the 'computer-ese' in the settings descriptions. This is just a test post really, to see what the font will look like, etc. I'll probably post sixteen times in the next week and then show some moderation after that. I'm hoping not to copy too many cool 'blogger' ideas from other peoples' blogs, but that may be hard. I really like updates on a variety of things. I've enjoyed reading about great buys my girlfriends get (even at pharmacies), recipes they have tried (who doesn't love a great recipe suggestion?), photos of family, funny stories of 'something that happened today', and just random thoughts. So I probably will not have much of a theme. My apologies in advance. :) I'm going to spend some time now copying my friend Andrea's nifty idea of using an online scrap-booking website to make a really neat heading for our blog. She has changed hers three times in the last week and it keeps getting more and more darling!
